New on the site!
"Vos Commander" passing Vlissingen, November 2016
"Smit Kiwi" in Zeebrugge, November 2016
Welcome on this website, made by André Kempe and Ruud Kempe. We have both been taking photographs of ships, especially tugboats, for years, and on this site we would like to show you as many pictures of our collection as we possibly can.
We live in the towns of Vlissingen and Middelburg, located in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. Vlissingen sits close to the "Westerschelde" river, which is a very busy shipping route towards the ports of Antwerp, Belgium and Terneuzen in the Netherlands.
As we see a lot of ships go by, sometimes we get the opportunity to take some pictures of them... as we have been doing for more than 25 years.
We have also been on holiday a few times, and made some pictures over there... anything with ships on it!
In addition to that, I (Ruud) have been working on ships since 1989, which gave me the opportunity to make pictures all over the world. I first worked for Nedlloyd, then worked on cruiseships for a number of years, and since 2002 I have been working for P&O Ferries.
At present I work on the "Pride of Bruges", a RoRo-passenger ship on a service between Zeebrugge and Hull.
I have also included some reports about drydocks I have witnessed, and some other occurences which you all might find interesting.
I update the site if and when we make some new pictures. I hope you enjoy the photos that can be found on this site. Because of space limitations, it is unfortunately impossible to show them at their original resolution.
